Free Books to Download
Spindrifters share the view that the greatest and the best things are free. In particular, we believe that anything by way of a story that is related to the life of Jesus Christ should not be used to make financial profit. Respectfully, we think there is too much of that happening in the world.

Mary Nicholls was a seemingly ordinary woman in her mid seventies, living in the Cornish village of St Dennis. Mary had a story to tell,
but she knew not how to tell it. She could not shake off a compelling calling to ensure that her story was told, not at all for any benefit
to herself, but rather in the hope that one day in a certain place at a given time there could perhaps be one person who might greatly benefit from the hearing of it. With a terminal diagnosis and rapidly deteriorating physical health Mary began to worry that her story
would not be told.

Steve Tench had, for several years, restrained an unexplainable compulsion to write a book. Though occasionally expressing a vague
understanding that there was something he had to write, Steve had neither the story that would motivate him, the time that he would
need, nor much of a clue how to do such a thing.Through a myriad of people and circumstances (sufficient to constitute another story)
the two came together in July 2018, resulting in the construction and the writing of Mary’s story.

It is a story that began for one who was not at all wanted. The unwanted became the unloved. The unloved became one of no value,
whose daily purpose consisted of little more than drudgery. It is a story that begins with loneliness and worthlessness in a world that
had no time for her. It is a story of decisions, simple everyday decisions that bring with them long lasting consequences. It is also a
story that brings challenge for those who may think that their future comfort is assured.
But it is not a story of ultimate defeat.

these can be obtained via Amazon ....that said, they are not sold for our profit. Prices of these books on Amazon are only those necessary to cover the cost, without which we would not be allowed to place them there.

Authors ...... if you written a story that has some Christian meaning and would like to arrange to place your story here as a free download, please contact us via e mail to spindriftercontact@yahoo.com. We would love to have stories, and especially those that are based upon the lives of real people. We are not quite so keen on anything that is written from a theological point of view or that seeks to enforce the views of a particular church or denomination. Any work placed here can be removed at any time as requested by the author. Any comments or reviews will be forwarded on to you.

Life and the living of it can be difficult enough, but even more so when you find yourself without anywhere to live. Wherever you happen to be, homelessness is never a desirable situation in which to find yourself. The people in this true story had found themselves in exactly that situation. They were a collection of very different people from very different backgrounds, but all sharing the same goal; to overcome homelessness and to regain a respectable position within society.
In seeking to do so, they, and those who were there to help them, came across something else. They came across something that they would have much preferred to do without. Something that pushed all of them to the edge of reason, to the limit of logic, to the point of despair and to an understanding of what fear really is.
They could have given up. They probably should have given up. But they didn’t. They held on. They held on in the hope that hope itself would arrive for them.

A young man, brought up in a Judean family, living as part of a minority amongst the mixed communities of the Decapolis at the time of Roman rule. He lives his life as he has always been told that he should, being dutiful and obedient to his father and serving his family without query or debate.
But he begins to wonder if he might do something more than that. He begins to question who and what he is. The path laid out for him is not of his own making. He contemplates who and what he could become and what he could do with his life. He develops his own hopes, his ambitions and aspirations. But can he do anything to bring them to life, and what might he achieve if he dares to try?
A fascinating story that follows this particular young man as he sets out upon his journey and finds that all is not as it seems and that what seems to be is not all.
